About the Design

By exclusive arrangement with Pitcairn Islands, New Zealand Mint has created this stunning coin collectors set depicting the replica ship built from the narrative details of her commander Capt.  William Bligh (as told in the motion picture ‘Mutiny on the Bounty’).

Obverse

The obverse features the Raphael Maklouf effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, sovereign of the Commonwealth and the Pitcairn Islands, along with the year of issue (2010) and the denomination of $2.

Reverse

The reverse features a high quality Gold-Gilded engraved image depicting the H.M.A.V. Bounty under full sail set in rough seas, and is minted with a finely engraved border design.

Limited Mintage

No more than 3,000 Gold Gilded H.M.A.V Bounty Coins will be issued by New Zealand Mint.

Packaging

Each coin is presented in a wooden display case designed to look like a captain’s trunk
