About the Design

Following on from the very successful Love is Precious Silver 2008, 2009 and the 2010 Coin. The New Zealand Mint is proud to announce another coin issue celebrating Love. This proof coloured silver coin shows two beautiful and magnificent flamingos with a beautiful sunset behind them, presented in a pure plated silver (precious) heart box with inlaid crystals.

These coins make a beautiful gift for Weddings, Birthdays, and Wedding Anniversaries etc.

Obverse

The obverse of the coin features the Raphael Maklouf effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, sovereign of the Commonwealth and Niue Island, along with the year of issue (2011) and the denomination of $2.

Reverse

The reverse face of the coin features two beautiful and magnificent flamingos with a beautiful sunset behind them. The inscription 'Love is Precious' graces the border below this image. 

Mintage

No more than 20,000 of the 2011 Love is Precious silver coins will be issued by New Zealand Mint.

Presentation

Each coin is presented in a pure plated silver (precious) heart box with inlaid crystals. This is enclosed in a silver outer box for its protection and comes with a certificate of authenticity issued by New Zealand Mint.
